A Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator assists voucher holders enrolled in the FSS program to achieve greater self-sufficiency.

Participants, located across our community and GJHA properties, work towards goals set during the program's five-year contract. These households live throughout our community, as well as at GJHA properties. The FSS program is an employment program with a five-year contract. Goals are set with the participants and once those goals are accomplished, the participant graduates from the program. This may be before the five-year contract period ends. During their time on the program participants accrue an escrow account that is funded through housing assistance payments made by GJHA. The escrow amount is based on their employment and increased wages. At their graduation they receive the escrow funds and can use them for any purpose they choose.
